January 2023
Fritz started the year by helping Team USA to win the inaugural United Cup tennis tournament, defeating Team Italy in the final.
At the Australian Open, he lost in the second round to Alexei Popyrin in a tight five set match (7-6, 6-7, 4-6, 7-6, 2-6).

Fritz’s first tournament in February was at the ATP 250 event in Dallas, where he lost to Yibing Wu in the semifinals (7-6, 5-7, 4-6).
He followed this up by winning the singles title at Delray Beach, defeating Miomir Kecmanovic in the final (6-0, 5-7, 6-2).
His last tournament in February was in Acapulco, where he lost in the semifinals to fellow American Tommy Paul (3-6, 7-6, 6-7).
