Best Tennis Racket for a Two Handed Backhand

What should you look for in a racket for your two handed backhand?

If you are looking for the best tennis racket for a two handed backhand then the main things to look out for are the racket’s head size, length, and weight.

1. Head Size

I would recommend getting a racket with a minimum head size of 100 sq inches as rackets with head sizes less than this are more suited to players with a one handed backhand.

A bigger frame will also give you a bigger sweet spot and more power on your two handed backhands, which will help you get more balls back over the net.

2. Length

A lot of players with a two handed backhand prefer a slightly longer racket length from the standard 27 inches as the extra length gives them extra room on the handle for them to grip the racket with both hands.

If you want to learn more about extended length rackets, then check out our guide.

3. Weight

Whereas tennis players with a one handed backhand, generally benefit from having a heavier racket, most recreational players with a two handed backhand won’t get the same benefit.

Instead, I would recommend getting a tennis racket in the 300g – 320g strung weight range if you are an intermediate to advanced player and less than 300g if you are a beginner.
