Matteo Berrettini’s next tournament and match will likely be in 2024 as he is recovering from an injury he picked up at the US Open 2023.
Berrettini’s next match and schedule for the first few months of 2024 have yet to be confirmed.
January 2023
Matteo began 2023 by helping Italy reach the final of the inaugural United Cup tennis tournament, where they lost to the USA 4-0.
At the 2023 Australian Open, Matteo’s lost to Andy Murray in the first round in an epic five set match (3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6, 6-7) – See match highlights below.

February 2023
Berretini only played in one tournament in February (Acapulco), where he lost to Holger Rune in the quarterfinals after he was forced to retire from the match with a leg injury.

March 2023
In March, Berretini played in the Masters 1000 tournaments in Indian Wells (lost to Taro Daniel in the 2nd round) and Miami (lost to Mackenzie McDonald in the 2nd round).
As Matteo lost early in Indian Wells, he also played in the Phoenix Challenger in Arizona, where he lost to Alexander Shevchenko in the quarterfinals (4-6, 6-3, 3-6).

April 2023
Berretini played in the Monte Carlo Masters at the beginning of April but was forced to retire from the tournament after he picked up an abdominal injury.
The injury also caused him to miss the tournaments in Munich, Madrid, Rome, and Roland Garros.
