Chicago Women’s Open

The Chicago Women’s Open is a WTA 125 tennis tournament, that is played on outdoor hard courts at the XS Tennis Village in Illinois.

The tournament was previously called the Chicago Tennis Festival when it was played in 2019 and 2021.

The 2023 Chicago Women’s Tennis Open took place from the 21st to the 26th of August 2023, with the 2023 tournament being played in the same week as the pro tournaments in Winston-Salem and Cleveland (Tennis in the Land).

The Women’s Tennis Open is one of two pro tennis tournaments in Chicago that were held in 2023, with the other being a Men’s Tennis Challenger which was played in July.

Women’s Singles


Viktoriya Tomova defeated Claire Liu in the 2023 women’s singles final 6–1, 6–4.


In the 2021 singles tournament, Clara Tauson defeated Emma Raducanu* in the final 6–1, 2–6, 6–4.

*Raducanu would go on to win the singles event at the 2021 US Open, becoming the first qualifier to win a grand slam trophy.

Women’s Doubles


Ulrikke Eikeri and Ingrid Neel won the 2023 women’s doubles tournament after they received a walkover from Cristina Bucsa and Alexandra Panova.


In the 2021 doubles tournament, Eri Hozumi and Peangtarn Plipuech beat Mona Barthel and Hsieh Yu-chieh 7-5, 6-2 in the doubles final.
