Pure Aero Rafa Origin 2023 vs Pure Aero Rafa 2023

Babolat has announced that they will be releasing an updated Pure Aero Rafa and a new Pure Aero Rafa Origin tennis racket that will have the same specs as the racket Nadal plays with.

The new rackets will be released on the 11th of April 2023 and will be available to buy through Tennis-Point, Tennis-Warehouse, and other online tennis shops.

Ahead of their release, I thought it would be good to look at the racket specs of these new rackets to see how they compare to each other.

Main Differences: The main difference between the rackets is the weight with the Rafa Origin being considerably heavier than the Pure Aero in terms of strung weight (334g vs 325g) and swing weight (370 vs 338).

Similarities: Both frames have a 100in head size, 27in racket length, 4pts HL head heavy balance, 23mm/26mm/23mm beam width, 16 x 19 string pattern, and a 68 frame stiffness rating.

2023 vs 2021 Versions (Rafa)

Main Differences: Again the biggest difference between the 2023 and 2021 versions is the weight, with the 2023 version having a slightly lighter strung weight (315g vs 318g), and a significantly lighter swing weight (338 vs 324).

The 2023 version also has a higher frame stiffness rating (73 vs 67).
