The Yonex Ezone 100 and Yonex Ezone 100l are both good options if you are an intermediate tennis player looking for a racket that gives you a good mix of power, spin, and control.

The Ezone 100 is endorsed by Belinda Bencic, Sorana Cirstea, Casper Ruud, and Marketa Vondrousova while the Ezone 100l is not currently endorsed by any tennis pros.

This article will look at the specs of both rackets to see how they compare to each other.

Yonex Ezone 100 vs 100l Comparison

For this racket comparison, I will be using the 2022 Version of both the Yonex Ezone 100 (or “E100”) and the Yonex Ezone 100l (or “E100L”).

Strung Weight and Swing Weight

As you would expect the E100L is the lighter of the two frames in terms of strung weight and swing weight.

Head Size and Racket Length

Both of these tennis rackets have a head size of 100 inches and a racket length of 27 inches.

Balance

The E100 has a slightly more head light balance than the E100L but you aren’t going to feel a huge difference between the two rackets in terms of their balance.

Frame Stiffness Rating

Both rackets have a stiffness rating of 69 so neither racket would be considered particularly arm friendly.

If you are looking for a racket that is arm friendly then check out our dedicated article on the best tennis rackets for tennis elbow.

Beam Width

The E100 has a beam width of 23.5mm / 26mm / 22mm while the E100L has a beam width of 23.8mm / 26.5mm / 22.5mm.

As the E100L has a slightly thicker beam width, you will find it is easier to generate power when compared with the E100 tennis racket.

Power and Control

Both the E100 and the E100L are low to medium-powered frames so neither is ideal for beginners who need help generating power on their shots.

However, if you are an intermediate to advanced player then both E100 and E100L provide more than enough power, with the E100L being the more powerful of the two rackets.

In terms of control, the E100 provides you with more control than the E100L.

String Pattern

Both rackets have an open 16×19 string pattern which will help you to generate more spin and power on your shots.

Design

Both rackets got an updated paint job for their 2022 versions but there isn’t a huge difference between the two frames in terms of their designs.

My Recommendations

In terms of racket specs, the main difference between the two frames is the strung and swing weights so if you feel like you need some extra help with generating power on your shots then the E100L will be your best option.

However, if you have a full swing and can generate your own pace then the E100 will be the better option as it gives you more control.
