The Pure Aero Lite and the regular Pure Aero are both popular tennis rackets made by French racket manufacturer Babolat.

The Pure Aero range of tennis rackets is famously endorsed by 22 grand slam singles champion Rafael Nadal as well as other top pros including Felix Auger-Aliassime, Jennifer Brady, Danielle Collins, Leylah Fernandez, Bethanie Mattek-Sands, and Elise Mertens.

The comparison below is for the 2019 versions of the Babolat Pure Aero Lite (or PAL”) and Pure Aero (or “PA”).

If you want to see a comparison of the 2023 versions, check out my article comparing both frames.

As you would expect, both rackets share many similarities including a 100-inch head size, 27-inch racket length, 16 x19 string pattern, and a 23mm / 26mm / 23mm beam width.

The biggest difference between these two tennis rackets is their strung and swing weights with the PA being considerably heavier than the PAL.

As the PAL is over an ounce lighter than the regular PA, it will be much easier for beginner to intermediate players to use.

In terms of arm friendliness, both of these frames have relatively high stiffness ratings so are best avoided if you have had arm issues in the past.

Comparison of the Babolat Pure Aero Lite and Pure Aero
