data-id=\"21213\">women&#8217;s tennis tournament<\/a> that is played on outdoor hard courts in Zhengzhou, China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tournament was an ITF event from 2014 to 2016 before it was upgraded to a WTA 125 tournament in 2017 and a WTA 500 event in 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No tournament was held in 2020, 2021, or 2022 so the 2023 tournament was the first one in four tournament was held from the <strong>9th to the 15th of October 2023<\/strong>, with this year&#8217;s competition taking place in the same week as the tournaments in <a href=\"https:\/\/toomanyrackets.com\/wta-korea-open\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"8779\">South Korea<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/toomanyrackets.com\/wta-hong-kong-open\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"25052\">Hong Kong<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/toomanyrackets.com\/shanghai-masters\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"12567\">Shanghai<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Singles Qualifying took place on
