The surprise defeat of Nadal in the 4th round of the 2009 Roland Garros gave Federer a great opportunity to win his first Roland Garros title.
However, it wasn’t plain sailing for Federer as he twice had to come from two sets down to win against Tommy Haas in the 4th round and Juan Martin del Potro in the Semi-Finals.
