The BNP Paribas Open is a tennis tournament that usually takes place in March each year in Indian Wells, California, USA.

The tournament is a combined ATP/WTA event with an ATP 1000 and WTA 1000 tournament being played concurrently.

The Indian Wells Tennis tournament is one of the biggest ATP tennis tournaments held during the year with some fans calling it the 5th grand slam.

The tournament is played on outdoor hard courts at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden with the biggest stadium court in the complex having a capacity of approximately 16,000 tennis fans.

The tournament usually takes place in the first two weeks of March with the Miami Open being played in the last two weeks of March.

Players who manage to win both tournaments are said to have completed the “Sunshine Double”.

Over the years, a number of players have been able to achieve the sunshine double including Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, and Kim Clijsters.

Dates

The 2024 ATP and WTA Tournaments took place over two weeks from the 4th to the 17th of March 2024, with singles qualifying taking place on the 4th and 5th of March.

It is expected that the Arizona Tennis Classic will be held in the second week for ATP players who lost in the first week in Indian Wells like it was in 2023.

Tickets

Tickets for the 2024 tournament in Indian Wells will be sold through the official tournament website, with tickets going on sale in late 2023.

For the 2023 tournament, there was free entry to the qualifying matches on the 6th and 7th of March with single-session ticket prices for other days starting at $30.

Indian Wells Prize Money and Ranking Points
