ATP China Open

The China Open is a tennis tournament on the ATP Tour that is played on outdoor hard courts in Beijing, China.

The first ATP 500 event in Beijing was played in 2004 with Marat Safin winning the singles and Justin Gimelstob and Graydon Oliver winning the doubles.

Dates

The 2023 China Open tennis tournament will be held from the 28th of September 2023 to the 4th of October 2023.

The 2023 tournament, will be the first time since 2019 that an ATP event will be held in Beijing, as the 2020, 2021, and 2022 tournaments were all canceled due to restrictions in place in China.

In 2023, there will be 32 players included in the singles draw, while in the doubles draw there will be a total of 16 teams.

Prize Money and Points

Details in relation to the financial commitment (including Prize Money) for the 2023 tournament have not been released yet but in 2019, it was $3,666,275.

How the prize money and points are to be split for the 2023 tournament has also not been released but below is how they were split in 2019.

Men’s Singles

The current singles champion in Beijing is Dominic Thiem who beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 3–6, 6–4, 6–1 in the singles final in 2019 (see match highlights below).

Men’s Doubles

The winners of the 2019 doubles tournament in Beijing were Ivan Dodig and Filip Polášek who beat Łukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo 6–3, 7–6 in the doubles final.
