2022 Laver Cup London

The 2022 Laver Cup will be the 5th edition of the Competition with Europe winning the first four so the world team will be aiming to stop Europe from making it 5 in a row.

After Europe’s comprehensive 14-1 win in the 2021 Laver Cup in Boston, The World Team will be definitely looking for revenge when the next Laver Cup takes place in London in September 2022.

This will also be the first time that the Laver Cup will take place in the UK with the competition being held at the O2 in London.

The Laver Cup is fast becoming a fan favourite tournament as it is one of the few tournaments where you can see the likes of Federer, Djokovic and Nadal playing doubles together.

Where to Stay While attending the 2022 Laver Cup in London

London has an excellent transport network so there is no real need to stay right next to the O2.

However, if you are looking for a recommendation, I have listed two hotels below that I stayed in while attending the ATP Finals at the O2 in 2018 and 2019. Both will give you relatively easy access to the O2.

Budget OptionHampton by Hilton London Docklands – The Hampton by Hilton London Docklands is a good budget option that provides easy access to the O2. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was nice and the staff were helpful when we had to print out tickets. The hotel is also a good option if you are flying into London City Airport as the hotel is a short walk away from the airport.

Luxury OptionDoubletree By Hilton London – Greenwich – This was the hotel we stayed in for our first trip to the O2. It takes a bit longer to get to the O2 from this hotel but the room, food and everything at the hotel was fantastic. The only reason we didn’t return was the price but if you want to treat yourself while at the Laver Cup, it is well worth it.

How to get to the O2 in London

You have a number of options when it comes to getting to the O2 to watch the 2022 Laver cup but if you are like me then you will most likely take the London tube to get there with the nearest tube station to the O2 being the North Greenwich station which is a short walk from the O2.

The North Greenwich station is on the Jubilee Line and you can use the Transport For London website to plan out your journey to the O2.

If you are staying at the Hampton by Hilton London Docklands Hotel and you are going to one of the day sessions then I would recommend going on the Emirates Air Line Cable Car as you will get a great view of the O2 and the London Docklands. Assuming that you are not afraid of heights, It is a nice relaxing way to get to the O2.
