Laver Cup 2023

The 2023 Laver Cup was the 6th edition of the competition with Team World going into the tournament as defending champions.

After Team World’s 13-8 win in the 2022 tournament in London, Team Europe was looking for revenge at the 2023 tournament in Vancouver.

The Laver Cup isn’t one of my favorite tennis tournaments as one of the things I love about tennis is that most fans support a player because they like their style and game, rather than because of the country or region of the world they come from, which is common in many other sports e.g. Badminton.

Players

The players for 2023 have now been confirmed with Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Taylor Fritz, and Frances Tiafoe all playing in Vancouver.

The European Team has left out many top players including the top 2 in the world (Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic), Danill Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, and Alexander Zverev.

It is unclear whether these players had schedule conflicts or whether there were some other reasons why they weren’t included in the team.
